Light and sight: Enhancing road safety

Automotive Lighting (AL) ranks among the world’s leading manufacturers of exterior vehicle lighting (head lamps, tail lamps) and light electronics. The company was founded in 1999 by Magneti Marelli S.p.A. and Robert Bosch GmbH (Bosch Licht). Since 2003, AL is a 100% subsidiary of Magneti Marelli.

The competence centre for headlamps and light electronics is sited at the company headquarters in Reutlingen (Baden-Württemberg), where around 1,000 people are employed. Automotive Lighting is represented worldwide at 29 sites on four continents. Around 20,000 employees produce more than 50 million head lamps, tail lamps and light control equipment every year, generating an annual revenue of more than EUR 3.5 billion.*
