The KDRS/RZRS corporate association supports around 100 per cent of town council administrations with their IT in the Stuttgart region. It comprises the Zweckverband Kommunale Datenverarbeitung Region Stuttgart (KDRS) and Rechenzentrum Region Stuttgart GmbH (RZRS). In the 45 years since it was founded in 1971, the KDRS/RZRS has become one of the most modern and efficient IT service providers in public administration.

Town councils can now offer citizens an appreciably better service with the help of modern technologies and work processes: much official business can now be dealt with or – in case of personal attendence requirement – can at least be prepared so that appointments can be conducted swiftly. This is possible thanks to efficient information processing and increasing digitisation.

KDRS/RZRS services cover all areas of the local authority IT world: reregistering place of residence and car, collecting birth certificates, registering a business, applying for housing allowances or new ID cards and passports – in most cases the technologies and know-how of the Stuttgart IT experts are behind the scenes in the Stuttgart region. They not only know their way around bits and bytes, but also the maze of administrative legislation.

Customer satisfaction couldn’t be better: in the Stuttgart region KDRS/RZRS has a market share of almost 100 per cent – the equivalent of 189 members with a total of 2.7 million inhabitants. The IT solutions and services of the Stuttgart company are also in high demand beyond the region and state bounds – today RZRS already hosts individual IT solutions for town councils with around 11 million inhabitants across Baden-Württemberg.

The company has always placed priority on maximum security in dealing with the sensitive data of citizens and town councils with a staff of around 300 qua- li ed employees. This is also confirmed certification ISO 27001 through based on IT basic protection by the Federal Office for Information Security, which was awarded for data centre operation in 2013.

Founded in 1971, the service provider celebrated its 45th birthday in 2016. This is a venerable age in the fast-paced IT world. Only a few companies which date back to the IT pioneering days are still on the market. This proves how well KDRS/ RZRS can adapt to its members’ needs.
