Time and space revisited

The Rieber success story goes back to 1925 when a carpentry and joinery workshop was founded at the company’s current headquarters in Reutlingen and continues in the 1960s with the introduction of the Gastronorm inter national catering standard.

Today, the company has long established itself as one of the leading providers of kitchen technology, proven for decades in both professional and private kitchens. At the same time the group headed Max Maier has earned a reputation as a system supplier of seamless catering solutions for schools, all kinds of businesses, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, care homes and armies.

Among the most recent innovations which Rieber has consistently devised, developed and promoted over the years is a project by the name of “Kitchen 4.0”. The name stands for the full digitisation of the catering scene, destined to ring in a paradigmatic change in the kitchen world. Kitchen chefs and catering customers will be able to track the location of their food and the temperature of meals. The key is the CHECK® digitisation and organisation system by means of which access to the internet is established with the help of QR codes and sensors. Hygiene regulations can thus be documented, fridges monitored and transportation paths tracked. CHECK® gives caterers complete security, transparency and traceability across the entire process. It is a matter of quality as company owner Max Maier emphasises: “All our products are given a memory and are networked.”
