Status quo at Status Verlag
Their publishing history is still of recent date, beginning 12 years ago with the “Stuttgart” books: “My Motor” and “Motor of Mobility – Stuttgart Metropolitan Region”. Status Verlag soon made a name for itself, in Stuttgart and further afield. As part of Wurzel Media Group it is specialised in the production and publishing of remarkable books. This year its activities were extended to include Edition Cantz and the Cantz art editions series. The publishing house has now issued its first exhaustive publisher’s list in print.

Edition Cantz offers the world of art and culture a house publisher that was established at the behest of museums, galleries, artists and creatives. The publisher started with a coup by acquiring the distribution rights of the original American edition of “Obama, The Call of History” for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. At the same time, a cooperation was launched with the influential MUDAM, Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Luxembourg with the issue of the “The Butterfly Image”.

The art lover’s choice
Cantz Art Editions round of the publisher’s list. In close cooperation with artists and experts and integrating advanced techniques applied by experienced printers, limited editions are reproduced in facsimile quality, thus giving many people the opportunity to gain a closer appreciation of artists and artworks. Examples include an Ernst Wilhelm Nay edition, co-produced with the Nay Foundation and the sensitive photographs of Volker W. Hamann.

Reflecting a strong region
Since it was founded, Status Verlag has designed and published works of signature content and design. The list includes books on the economy, culture and life in Baden-Württemberg such as location marketing titles, volumes of photographs, non-fiction books and biographies. The successful cooperation with Stuttgart, the region and State has just resulted in a new publication entitled “MOTOR for Change & Digitisation – Moving Baden-Württemberg”.
